This year's dinner will serve to commemorate the air defence of Port Moresby, by 75 Squadron, RAAF 80 years ago. The Squadron, ’Seek and Strike’ was formed on 2 March 1942; for 44 days, after minimal training, from 21 March 1942 they damaged or destroyed 89 enemy aircraft, lost all but one of their Kittyhawks and, from formation, lost 12 of their pilots. GPCAPT Christopher J Verco RFD KSJ will outline their remarkable contribution at a time of great peril to this country.
