LEUT Ron Read, RAN (Rtd) is back in action and presents ‘The Battle in the Coral Sea’. Ron is the Club’s Subject Matter Expert on this crucial battle off our NE coast in 1942.  He will explain its importance as the first large-scale naval battle where the participating ships did not see one another, and the outcome was decided by air power alone for the first time. Hear why it was so crucial to Australia’s fortunes in WW2, and how it changed naval warfare forever.
