About the event
Our guest speaker for this year’s Health Service Dinner is the Honourable Hieu Van Le AC. Hieu will speak about his incredible journey from a Vietnamese refugee to Governor of South Australia.
Hieu was born in Quang Tri, South Vietnam. He was raised and educated in Da Naing and attended Dalat University. In November 1977, he fled the new communist regime in Vietnam and, with his wife Lan, arrived in Darwin by boat as a refugee. Hieu and Lan settled in South Australia where they had two sons. Hieu continued his education at the University of Adelaide receiving a Master of Business Administration and an Economics degree. The culmination of his successful career and life in South Australia was to serve South Australia, first as the Lieutenant Governor from 2007, and then sworn in as His Excellency the Governor of South Australia, in 2014.
Join us at the club to hear The Honourable Hieu Van Le and enjoy a three-course dinner and club beverages.
